Year 1 Homeroom Teacher
Bachelor of Education with Honours (TESOL) (Honours), University of Nottingham Malaysia

Mr. Ian is a fresh graduate with a background in TESOL and a strong passion for working with young learners. He graduated with First Class Honours in Bachelor of Education (Hons) TESOL from the University of Nottingham Malaysia, where his practicum experience deepened his commitment to supporting children in their early years of schooling.

His inspiration to pursue education came from his former tuition teacher, whose influence showed him how one teacher could make a lasting difference in a student’s life. This experience shaped his belief that classrooms should be spaces where children feel supported, valued, and excited to learn.

He believes that learning should be interactive, supportive, and meaningful. He values clear routines and gentle guidance, but also sees humour and encouragement as powerful tools to build trust and connection. His classroom approach emphasises hands-on activities, purposeful talk, and opportunities for students to explore ideas together, aiming to help them grow not only in academics but also in confidence, curiosity, and care for one another.

Outside the classroom, he enjoys reading fantasy novels and listening to music, which help him unwind and recharge beyond the school day. As he begins his teaching career at Havil International School, he is eager to bring both dedication and enthusiasm to his classroom.
